Kazakhstani football team loses to Turkey in Istanbul

The Kazakhstani national football team lost 0:4 to Turkey in a world cup-2006 qualifier in Istanbul, KZ-today correspondent reports.

"We played quite well in defence in the first time, but we were tired in the second one. As a result we lost two goals in the last few minutes," - Maxim Nizovtsev, Kazakhstani halfback, said right after the match in Istanbul.

The first time of the game finished 1:0. In the second time, the second ball was scored in our goal on the 51st minute. Turkish players scored the third ball on the 90th minute, and the last one on the second injury time minute of the match. As a result the world cup 2002 bronze winners have won 4:0.

"It was only the second match for our team on the high European level," - Samat Smakov, Kazakhstani national team captain said. "We realise that 0:4 is a big loss, but one shouldn't forget that the Turkish team is a world cup bronze winner," - S. Smakov summed up.

The Kazakhstani football players arrived in Almaty from Istanbul on October 10. The next world cup-2006 qualifier for the national team of Kazakhstan will take place October 13 in Almaty, against Albania.
