Ex-chairman of Committee for Struggle against Drug Business arrested in Antalia

Astana. January 20. Kazakhstan Today - Ex-chairman of the Committee for Struggle against Drug Business of Kazakhstan, Askar Isagaliev, has been arrested in Antalia. The official representative of the department, Kuanyshbek Zhumanov, informed at a weekly briefing in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, the agency reports.

"A. Isagaliev was arrested in Antalia on January 9. Now, the Turkish authorities deal with the question of his extradition to Kazakhstan," K. Zhumanov informed.

He reminded that a criminal case has been instigated against ex-chairman of the Committee for Struggle Against Drug Business, with the charges being abuse of power. "Since Isagaliev had not turn up at the court, the court authorized his arrest," the official representative reminded.

"The Interpol of Kazakhstan along with the Interpol of Turkey were searching in the territory of the Turkish Republic the ex-chairman of the Committee for Struggle against Drug Business of Kazakhstan for 4 months."
