President visited construction site of Koksaray counter regulator

Shymkent. November 11. Kazakhstan Today - Today the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, visited construction site of Koksaray counter regulator in Aryss administrative zone of the South Kazakhstan oblast, the agency reports referring to the press service of Emergency Department of South Kazakhstan oblast.

The Emergency Minister of Kazakhstan, Vladimir Bozhko, informed the President of Kazakhstan on the course of the work during his visit of the counter regulator. All civil work is carried out by Kazselezashita forces and contract organizations. 1 billion 800 million KZT has been spent from the beginning of construction.

As it was informed earlier, the decision on construction of Koksaray counter regulator on the river Syr-Darya in South Kazakhstan oblast was accepted in June of 2008. The purpose of construction - to secure inhabitants of the coastal areas against flood of the river and to create stocks of water for irrigation of fields. In the spring in Koksaray will accumulate 2-3 billion cubic meters.

Construction of the counter regulator is financed from the Republican budget. Koksaray counter regulator will be completed in 2012.
