Yerevan's and Istanbul's Mayors discussed possible non-centralized cooperation between the two cities

The meeting took place under the initiative and patronage of the President of the French Senate Christian Ponslete. CNA was informed in the press office of the Armenian Foreign ministry that the two officials discussed implementation of joint arrangements between French Universities in Yerevan and Istanbul with assistance of the French Senate. After the meeting the Mayor of the Armenian capital Robert Nazarian said that Armenia considers relations with all states, including neighboring Turkey "from the position of future". For building the future "it is necessary to turn over the pages of the past". In this regards, Armenia highly estimates law on recognizing the Armenian Genocide of 1915 in Ottoman Turkey adopted in France in 2000, that can become an example for other states. |
