US Ambassador in Uzbekistan: US fights against terrorism, not against Islam

US ambassador thanked Uzbek President and Islamic people for condolences with terrorist acts in US and support in fighting against terrorism. Quoting John Herbst, " Uzbekistan is one of the main historical Islamic centers, and it is very important for Islamic world when its leaders says that terrorism and Islam is not the same". Mufti of Uzbekistan in his turn condemned terrorism and supported US military actions in Afghanistan, stressing, that eradicating of terrorism "will give a chance to people of the world to live in peace". |
