Ukrainian Foreign Minister voiced readiness of being mediator in settling Karabakh conflict

The minister said that Ukraine examines perspectives of settling longstanding Karabakh conflict from the point of view of respecting universally recognized principle of territorial integrity of states. He mentioned that participation of Ukrainian forces in forming new peacemaking contingent in Transcaucasia, particularly in Abkhazia, could be discussed after taking certain decisions by the UN Security Council. The Ukrainian Minister stressed that Kiev came out against escalation of military-political situation in South Caucasus and favors solving Georgian-Abkhaz conflict within the frames of Georgian territorial integrity. |
