Azat Arshakian, leader of Army of Sovereignty organization, former deputy of Armenian Supreme Council, is arrested for illegal ammunition and weapon custody.

Voice of Armenia newspaper reported (September 18, 2001) that Arshakian was captured on September 14, during investigation activities on the murder of Gagik Pogosian, counselor of Armenian Prime Minister. Pogosian, who earlier held a post of Armenian Minister of State Finance, was killed by a bomb while leaving his flat. Armenian authorities did not exclude that Pogosian's murder may be connected with his professional activity.
