This visit will have a historic importance. It will positively influence the process of development and deepening relations between Armenia and Vatican, Armenian President Robert Kocharian mentioned at the seeing-off ceremony. He expressed assurance that the Pope-s visit to Armenia will become an incentive for strengthening cooperation between Vatican and Armenian Apostolic Church. Necessity of establishing and preserving peace was also accentuated by John Paul II. Development and prosperity cannot exist without peace, the pontiff stressed saying goodbye to Armenia and blessing the Armenian people. |
