During the meeting principal attention was paid to the regional security in light of recent terrorist acts in the US and international situation around Afghanistan concerning these events. The ways of expanding cooperation between the two states were also discussed. It is noteworthy that both Uzbekistan and India expressed readiness to render the US assistance in return struggle against terrorists, especially Usama bin Laden - the central suspect, who hides in Afghanistan, on the territory controlled by the Taliban movement. |
