GEORGIA INSISTS ON INTERNATIONAL CONTROL OVER GUDAUTA BASE

Georgia insists on controlling the process of disbanding the Russian military bases in Gudauta. The Georgia Foreign Minister Irakliy Menagarishvili informed Prime News that in the near future Tbilisi will have reaction of Russia on proposal to provide transparency during disbanding and invite international observers to Gudauta. Under the decision made at the OSCE summit in Istanbul, the base was to be liquidated until July 1, however, the process have been dragging out because of protests of the Abkhaz population. At least, this is the very reason the Russian side forwards.
