RUSSIAN DEFENCE MINISTER SPOKE FOR FURTHER DEVELOPING ARMENIAN AND RUSSIAN MILITARY COOPERATION

The Armenia-Russian military cooperation is aimed at providing security of people of two states and will develop in the future for the sake of peace, the Defence Minister of Russia Sergey Ivanov, having arrived today in Armenia with the official visit stated.

CNA correspondent informs that while making a speech in Yerevan's airport, Ivanov expressed confidence that the forthcoming negotiations in Yerevan will allow to upgrade military cooperation between Russia and Armenia to another level. According to the Russian minister during the visit he plans to sign agreement on the status of military advisors and specialists, send on an official trip to Armenia from Russia, as well as agreement on 102 Russian military base. Asked to comment the recent statements by the Advisor of the Russian President Sergey Yasterjembskiy that Russia does not exclude possible attacks on territories of the states, which threats its national interests, the Defence Minister stressed that today nobody can name the geographic coordinates from where real threat of Russian security comes. "The threat comes from everywhere v it is international terrorism," the Minister said. Ivanov refrained from replying the question on possible support by Russia of retaliatory act by US against the terrorists. "This is a geopolitical issues, which is to be addressed to those who plan this acts. Russia does not plan any strikes."
