CNА was informed in a diplomatic source in Baku that the Commander has already negotiated in Tehran with the heads of Interior Ministry of Iran. Within the frames of discussion of the issues on interaction of the sides in fight against illegal drug trafficking the sides have discussed the program of joint measures on prevention of illegal trespassing of Azeri-Iranian borders. The most part of borders will be controlled by the authorities of Nagorno Karabakh and this fact bothers the Azeri side. Moreover, the heads of the Interior Ministry of Iran and Frontier troops of Azerbaijan have discussed the prospects of introduction of visa-free regime to the both states. This issue will be discussed in the near future at the meeting between the Interior Ministers of Iran and Azerbaijan, who as well will discuss the measures on prevention of smuggling of goods and drugs. CNА also was informed that the Iranian side intends to sign as a result of these negotiations a final Protocol on Mutual Understanding regarding the border security issues. |
