He especially stressed that today he visited the memorial to the victims of the Armenia Genocide of 1915 in Ottoman Turkey and paid a tribute to the memory of innocent victims. While speaking about the possible military cooperation between Moscow and Ankara the Russian President underlined that "Turkey does not enter CIS yet, and it doesn't aspire to membership to the Collective Security Treaty. Turkey is one of members of NATO, the structure, which has its military standards and it's channels for arms delivery, President Putin said while adding that if Russia whenever supplies any armament to Turkey it will not impact significantly on the state of the Turkish Army. "The matter is not in Turkey. In fact, Russian considers Armenia as its strategic partner. Our regional policy would be aimed at providing a reliable security of Armenia, in light of Karabakh conflict settlement. We must act accurately for not creating in this region any new cataclysms and explosions. This will be well-though policy targeted to strategic partnership with Armenia," the Russian president Vladimir Putin said. |
