Kazakhstan's Olympic champs to be honored in Astana

President of the country Nursultan Nazarbayev is expected to participate.
Kazakhstan won 13 medals - seven gold, one silver and five bronze - in London. Our national team took the 12th spot in the unofficial medal standings. This year's result is much better compared to the 29th rank at the 2008 Beijing Olympiad. Japan and Australia have the same number of gold medals.
Cyclist Alexandr Vinokurov, weightlifters Zulfiya Chinshanlo, Maiya Maneza, Svetlana Podobedova, athlete Olga Rypakova, weightlifter Ilya Iliyn and boxer Serik Sapiyev are the gold medallist of the London-2012.
It was boxer Adilbek Niyazymbetov who brought Kazakhstan its only silver medal. Wrestler Danyal Gajiyev, boxer Marina Volnova, wrestler Guzel Manyurova, boxer Ivan Dychko and wrestler Akzhurek Tantarov took bronze. |
