Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev held a meeting on the development of northern regions in Borovoye resort area on August 8.

The meeting was attended by the head of the Presidential Administration Aslan Mussin, First Deputy Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov, Minister of Agriculture Assylzhan Mamytbekov, as well as governors of grain-growing regions of the country: Akmola region - Kairat Kozhamzharov, Kostanai region - Nuraly Saduakassov, Pavlodar region - Yerlan Aryn, and North Kazakhstan region - Serik Bilyalov.

The President of Kazakhstan paid special attention to the importance of increasing investment attractiveness of the regions. Nursultan Nazarbayev has focused on the task to improve the quality of life of the Kazakhstanis, reduce poverty and prevent social exclusion.

"In the northern regions should it is needed to work with large grain companies, in which employees work only 5-6 months a year. As a result, North-Kazakhstan region shows the lowest average monthly wage among the regions - 56 000 KZT. This issue requires careful analysis and measures. The share of wages in the region's agricultural area in 2011 amounted to only 5 percent. Substantial funds are allocated within the programs "Employment - 2020" and "With diploma to village" in order to attract personnel to the rural area. Private companies complain about the shortage of personnel in the countryside, but do not pay good salaries.

Now, only the government deals with this issue. It is necessary to involve business in this work," the Kazakh President noted.
