Fifth annual international conference "Capitals as centers of "cultural worlds" has begun its work at the Eurasian National University today.

Founded in 2008, the annual conference devoted to the new capital of Kazakhstan gathers dozens of local and international researchers and scientists, teachers and experts in the field of history, philosophy, sociology, political science, economics and other sciences.

Over the past four years the event was attended by more than 250 researchers from Pakistan, Malaysia, India, Azerbaijan, France, Germany, Russia, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, as well as experts from Astana and Almaty.

The theme of this year's conference "Capital as centers of "cultural worlds" is dedicated to the implementation by Astana of its 2012 Mission of Cultural Capital of the Turkic world and the CIS.

The conference will focus on philosophical, social, cultural, historical and economic issues.

The organizers are the city administration and "Astana-Zertteu" Foundation on the basis of the Eurasian National University.
