Kazakhstan ready to help stabilize situation in Afghanistan after UN troops withdrawal: Nazarbayev

The Head of State thanked Jan Kubis for support he rendered to Kazakhstan in terms of its OSCE chairmanship, Kazinform has learnt from the President's press service.
"We look forward to further fruitful cooperation. We are interested in how the situation will turn out in Afghanistan after the withdrawal of UN troops from the country. Kazakhstan is ready to participate in the process of stabilization of the situation in Afghanistan. In this connection we plan to arrange a special UN hub in Almaty. It will help the Central Asian and other countries effectively aid Afghanistan," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
In his turn, Jan Kubis noted the stabilization of the situation in Afghanistan would improve the situation in the whole region.
The sides also discussed a wide range of issues relating to the humanitarian field, commerce, investments and infrastructure projects. |
