Despite all conditions that have been created for business development in Kazakhstan, our entrepreneurs are still passive.

President of the country Nursultan Nazarbayev told a Friday session dedicated to business problems in Akorda (presidential residence).

"Through the years of independence I kept my finger on the pulse and monitored the situation around business development. It is of paramount importance to do that amid conditions of market economy. 40 per cent of economy should rely on Kazakhstani SME by 2020. We are creating all necessary conditions to achieve that. The SME rate within GDP has jumped from 17 to 21 per cent over the last years. But our businessmen are still inert," the Head of State noted.

President Nazarbayev also stressed he wanted the businessmen to bring new ideas to the table in order to improve the conditions for business development in Kazakhstan.
