The 91st plenary session of the European Commission for Democracy through Law, better known as the Venice Commission, took place in Italy.

Chairman of Kazakhstan's Constitutional Council I. Rogov made a presentation of the country at the forum. The session brought together President of the Venice Commission Gianni Buquicchio, heads of the constitutional control agencies from all over the world and members of the authoritative international organizations.

As was reported earlier, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the Decree "On membership of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the European Commission for Democracy through Law" on March 13, 2012. The document was inked after the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe had endorsed corresponding bid from Kazakhstan. This is a reflection of the fact the world community has acknowledged our achievements in strengthening the rule of law.

As a member of the Venice Commission I.Rogov informed the participants of the meeting of Kazakhstan's law police. He noted that further improvement of the national legal system is aimed at its democratization, humanization and liberalization.
