Kazakhstan and Germany will focus on two priorities of their economic cooperation, Kazakh Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev stated after the meeting with the delegation of Eastern Committee of German Economy.

The first priority is the implementation of joint industrial projects with high performance, energy efficiency in industries such as metallurgy, machinery, chemicals and building materials under the Kazakhstan Forced Industrial

Innovative Development Program.

The second one is the practical implementation of the partnership agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Germany in the fields of raw materials, industry and technology (on the principle of raw materials in exchange for investment and technology). "Right now we are making the list of projects, continue the negotiation process," Asset Issekeshev said.

Presently, Germany is one of the main partners of Kazakhstan in Europe, and Kazakhstan is Germany's leading economic partner in Central Asia. The great impetus to the development of bilateral relations has been given by the visit of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev to Berlin early this year. The result of the visit was the signing of the partnership agreement in the raw materials, industrial and technological fields, and about 50 agreements totaling more than USD 3 billion.

Today, more than 1,200 enterprises with the participation of the private German capital, including "Siemens", "ThyssenKrupp", "Knauf", "Bosch", "Linde", "METRO" operate in Kazakhstan.
