Kazakhstan plans to start enriching uranium at a processing center in the Russian town of Novouralsk, Sergei Kiriyenko, head of Moscow-based Rosatom Corp. told reporters yesterday in Astana.

Kazakhstan may start building a nuclear power station jointly with Russia next year, President Nursultan Nazarbayev said yesterday in Astana after meeting his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Kazinform has learnt from Bloomberg.

Russia is also considering entering the Horizon project to build nuclear-power stations in the U.K., Kiriyenko said, according to Interfax.
