Conference on child protection held in Majilis

The issues of full protection of the rights and interests of the child should be seen in direct connection with the interests of the family, chairman of the socio-cultural development committee of the Majilis Dariga Nazarbayeva said speaking at a conference on child protection in the Majilis.

"About 10,000 homeless and neglected children are identified in the country every year. This is certainly a very serious social problem requiring complex solutions. This is the problem of poverty, social assistance for families in crisis, as well as the effectiveness of government efforts in this area. We are talking about protecting children from abuse and neglect of parental duties," Nazarbayeva noted.
