The Senate Speaker reported on preparation for the IV Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions (Congress) scheduled on May 30-31 in Astana. 87 delegations from 40 countries will attend the Congress.
The main theme of the Congress is "Peace and harmony as the choice of mankind."
The congress will consist of a plenary and 4 sectional sittings. The determining issue of the Congress is the implementation of the Nazarbayev's initiative on Religious Leaders' Council establishment.
In addition, K. Mami informed that the opening ceremony of the monument to the victims of the famine of 1932-1933, visit to the museum and memorial complex "ALZHIR" and a joint prayer service for the victims of political repression are scheduled on May 31- the Day of Victims of Famine and Political Repression.
Following the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev set a number of tasks and gave specific instructions to K.Mami. |
