One more border checkpoint "Tegen-Karkara" will be opened at Kazakh-Kyrgyz state border, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said during the meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart Almazbek Atambayev.

"Kyrgyzstan wants to promote cross-border cooperation. We've made a decision to reopen the border checkpoint "Tegen-Karkara" at the Kazakh-Kyrgyz border," N. Nazarbayev pointed out.

This control border checkpoint was closed amid unrest, arms and contraband traffic in 2010.

"This checkpoint was shut down because we wanted to ensure the security of our country and ensure control over the situation," President Nazarbayev emphasized.
