President Nursultan Nazarbayev put forward this proposal at today's first plenary session of the Seoul Nuclear Security Summit, our correspondent reports.
"Dear colleagues, Kazakhstan proposes to hold the summits every two years. We are ready to host one of the nuclear security summits in Astana," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
"Kazakhstan hails entry into force of the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty between the US and Russia and supports the new nuclear strategy of President Barack Obama regarding renunciation of the use of nuclear weapons with regard to the states observing Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. I call on all nuclear powers to do with the same good grace," the Head of State stressed. |
