Shakirov delivered a speech at the opening ceremony and proposed Kazakhstan's initiatives on ensuring effective start and priorities of the commission. He also told about the development of human rights protection mechanisms in Kazakhstan.
The decision on establishing the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission and its Charter was made during the 38th session of the Foreign Ministers' Council on 30 June 2011 in Astana. The Commission consists of 18 members. |
