EBRD invested in Kazakhstan over USD 5 bln - Nazarbayev

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has totally invested more than USD 5 bln in Kazakhstan. President Nursultan Nazarbayev has informed of it at a plenary session of the EBRD Annual Meeting in Astana.

"Over the independence years the Bank invested over USD 5 bln in our economy and it allowed to implement more than 140 projects," the President said in the Palace of Independence.

The Head of State noted that year by year cooperation of Kazakhstan with the EBRD grows. Last year the Bank's investments in Kazakhstan reached USD 1 bln and were directed to 21 projects.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is an international financial institution founded in 1991 for support of market economy in Central Europe and Central Asia.
