The partners in the Karachaganak oil field are negotiating with the Kazakhstani government to sell it a stake in the field, Eni SpA chief Paolo Scaroni told Bloomberg News August 25.

The sale might conclude in a few weeks, Scaroni said, adding that the size of the stake and sale conditions remained unclear.

KazMunaiGaz said June 3 it wanted 10% of the project. BG (Britain), Eni (Italy), Chevron (United States) and LUKoil (Russia) are the venture's partners.
