"ArtBatFest - 2010" Contemporary Art Festival

On 21 August, the first Open Air Contemporary Art Festival "ArtBatFest - 2010" will take place on the Arbat in Almaty.

The program of the festival:

The official opening of the Festival - 21 August, 15.00

The program of the official opening includes Performance of Moldakul Narymbetov, Performance of the Sponsor, original music and theatrical events, FlashMod, as well as many improvisations and visuals.

You will be able to get familiar with sculpture installations located within the pedestrian area of the Arbat.

Further, during the whole Festival you will be able to visit the following weeks: Video Art, Photo Art, Painting and Graphic Arts, Theatre, which will be open by various events at 15:00 every Saturday.

The Open Air Contemporary Art Festival will gather creations of well-known maestros such as Moldakul Narymbetov, Saken Narynov, Georgy Tryakin-Bukharov, as well as works of young sculptors and artists on the most popular boulevard of Almaty.

All who decide to visit this festival will have to break off stereotypes, which go to rack and ruin here. You will meet with the nonstandard, delightful, shocking, and sometimes horrible world - the world seen by artists' eyes today. However, all these works are united by one idea: whatever the world is, it deserves our love and sympathy. The Festival is organized with the support of the Akimat of Almaty and its primary purpose is to draw attention of our compatriots to the environmental problem.
