CSTO and CIS informal summits to take place on May 8

Almaty. May 6. Kazakhstan Today - Informal meetings of the heads of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) dated for to the 65th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War will be held on May 8 in Moscow, the agency reports citing the press service of the president of the Russian Federation.

According to Vesti. Ru, the acting president of Moldova, Mihay Gimpu, will not be able to participate in the celebration events on the Red Square in Moscow on May 9. However, he will take part in the informal CIS summit. The Ambassador of Moldova to Russia, Andrey Negutse, will present Moldova in the celebrations on the occasion of the 65 victory anniversary in Moscow. The Presidents of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, and Ukraine, Victor Yanukovych, will not participate in the events on May 9, but they will take part in the informal summit of the heads of the CIS countries. The situation in Kyrgyzstan after April events in Bishkek will be one of the questions of the informal meeting of the CIS leaders.
