May 4. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, signed protection of consumer rights law, the agency reports citing the president's press service. According to the press service, the head of state signed the law on protection of consumer rights directed at defining the bases of protection of consumer rights in Kazakhstan and the measures for provision of consumers with safe and the qualitative goods, works, and services. As informed earlier, the law defines the legal, economic and social bases of consumer rights protection and the measures for provision of consumers with the qualitative goods, works and services. The norms regulating the rights and duties of the manufacturer have been introduced to the law (the executor, the seller) in regards to defining of service life, expiration date of the goods, and the warranty period of the goods. Thus, the law establishes the rights of the state and public protection of the legitimate interests of consumers from purchase of goods of inadequate quality presenting danger to their life and health.
