Almaty. April 29. Kazakhstan Today - The Internet companies should have responsibility for everything that they have on their sites. The economist, Professor of Bocconi University, Carlo Alberto Carnevale Maffe, said during the IX Euroasian Media Forum, speaking about the necessity of combating pornography, violence and terrorism in the Internet, the agency reports.

"As for the individual rights, for example, freedom of speech should be guaranteed. But as for organisations, I think, if you have business in the Internet, you should be responsible for everything that you publish there as any other editorial agency, such as television channels and magazines," C. Maffe said.

"I think control agencies need to supervise this," the Professor said.

"Google or You Tube … actually these companies earn money due to the content they have on their sites. Accordingly, they should bear responsibility for what they publish. If you are a commercial organization and earn money, you should have responsibility. If you a citizen and simply publish your content, it is absolutely different and it should be regulated by the freedom of speech rights," C. Maffe said.
