PACE refused to recognise famine as genocide of exclusively Ukrainian people

Almaty. April 29. Kazakhstan Today - The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) the day before rejected the amendment to the resolution to the report the 'Tribute to the Memory of Victims of Famine in the former USSR', recognising the events of 1930 genocide of exclusively Ukrainian people, the agency reports citing to ITAR-TASS.

The Russian delegation welcomed such approach. According to vice chairman of the delegation, first vice president of the Duma Committee for International Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, "introduction of such amendments would completely change the report's concept." "Famine of 1930 is the greatest tragedy of all people of the former USSR, the crimes of the Stalin's regime," he underlined.
