During the visit the chairman of the Supreme Court met Elsie Leung, Hong Kong minister of justice, Andrew Li, chairman of the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal, and Justice Ma, chairman of the Hong Kong Supreme Court. The sides have exchanged their views on matters of mutual interest. In particular, they have identified guiding lines for the development of closer bilateral co-operation between the judicial authorities of the two countries. The Kazakhstani delegation participated in the solemn opening ceremony of the Year of the Law in Hong Kong, visited the legislative assembly (parliament) of Hong Kong, the technological and territorial courts, and also one of penitentiaries. |
