Kazakhoil Aktobe, Alibekmola Neftestroi signed a $61 million contract

Kazakhoil Aktobe Ltd. and "Alibekmola Neftestroi" consortium signed a contract totaling $61 million. Ondasyn Orazalin, head of Aktubinsk oblast economic and indicative planning department reported about that to KZ-today correspondent.

According to O. Orazalin, services to the oil company such as projection, construction and integration of new structures at Alibekmola field in Mugolzharsk region, Aktubinsk oblast are stipulated under the contract. In particular, the consortium declared the winner of the tender has to install a gas-treating plant, oil-treating equipment and carry out other services.

For the time of construction about 800 work places will be established. The structures are planned to be put in commission in October 2004.

Having regard to the information given by O. Orazalin, after putting into operation new structures, the oil extraction is suggested to be increased up to 3 million tons per year. 1 million tons of oil is planned to be extracted at Alibekmola field this year. 420 thousand tons of oil were extracted in 2003.

Kazakhoil Aktobe Ltd. has been established in 1999. Since 2002 the company has been developing Alibekmola and Kozhasai fields in Mugolzharsk region, Aktubinsk oblast. A Canadian petroleum company Nelson Resources owns a 50% joint venture interest in Kazakhoil Aktobe (KOA) with the Kazakh National Oil Company, KazMunaiGas.

"Alibekmola Neftestroi" consortium includes the "Kazakh Institute of Oil and Gas" JSC, "Kazkhimmontazh" CJSC, "Kazstroiservice" CJSC and "Temir Pipe" Ltd.
