Regional conference of Asar party in Atyrau

Dariga Nazarbayeva has highly estimated the level of economic development of Atyrau oblast and its role in the economic development of the country at a regional conference of Asar party taking place in Atyrau. KZ-today correspondent has been advised in Asar party press service.

According to Asar leader, despite significant success in the oblast development, around one fourth of the population, according to sociological research, say that they have money that is enough only for food. Around 10% of oblast residents live beyond the poverty line.

"Among the main problems of the oblast its residents mention the condition of healthcare system, the risk of a job loss, the condition of city transport and roads, the state of women and reduction of birth rate", - D. Nazarbayeva has stated.

According to Asar leader, "the oblast residents are significantly worried about the ecological situation, the high child death rate, a growth of oncological diseases, and a lower life expectancy than in other regions". "An issue of providing population with potable water is a part of the general ecological problems," - D. Nazarbayeva believes. 34% of the oblast residential areas are not covered by the water pipeline network. More than 95 thousand people use unrefined water".

According to D. Nazarbayeva, "there can't be any simple solutions here. The issue requires detailed and professional comprehension. However, the main thing is obvious, one can't perform the asks of environmental protection, maintenance of ecological balance. These problems must be resolved together, by the whole world".

The leader of Asar believes that special attention of the oblast branch must be paid to resolution of the education system problem. 73 of 192 Atyrau oblast schools are located in buildings that are not fit for education, while 16 are in the emergency condition. The existing schools are overburdened, children are forced to study in three shifts. There are no schools at all in 28 residential areas.

"I am convinced that the Atyrau branch of our party must concentrate its activities on elaborating proposals for resolution of those problems. It should do so through its own work with the akimat, through work in the oblast maslikhat, and through its own actions, directed at an improvement of people's life", - D. Nazarbayeva has stated.
