Expected growth of demand for oil in 2004

The world demand for oil in 2004 will grow approximately by 1.2 million barrels per day, which will make 79.6 million barrels per day. This estimation can be found in a report by the International Energy Agency (IEA), KZ-today correspondent reports.

The IEA report says that the volume of oil production in the world has grown in December, 2003, in comparison with the last month by 395 thousand barrels to 82.1 million barrels per day.

The OPEC countries in 2003 increased their production by 195 thousand barrels per day. The IEA observes that in December there was the highest volume of production in the cartel countries since March, 2001, - 27.9 million barrels per day.
