"Asar" party congress takes place in Almaty

An extraordinary congress of "Asar" party has taken place today, July 21, in Almaty. More than 400 delegates from all regions of Kazakhstan have participated in it, KZ-today correspondent reports.

Dariga Nazarbayeva, party chair, making the main report of the congress observed that "Asar" had become "a real political force in the country." The party differs from other political associations by the fact that it will never allow itself "dishonest games, unrealisable promises, bribery of electors, and lies," - D. Nazarbayeva said. "We are different because we know for sure what to do, who will do it, and how the established goals should be achieved."

"Neither of parties has ever demonstrated such impressive speed" in promotion of their "ideas in the society," - the "Asar" leader stated. She observed that a mass action "Make a wish to your country", on the basis of which the party people's programme was created, had shown that "the people trust the party." More than 200 thousand Kazakhstani citizens have become members of the party.

The pre-election platform of the party and lists of candidates from "Asar" party have been approved at the congress. Dariga Nazarbayeva, party leader; Sergey Kharchenko, chief editor of "Kostanai news" paper; Raushan Sarsembayeva, head of the Association of Businesswomen of Kazakhstan; academician Mukhtar Aliyev; academician Umirzak Sultangaliyev; general Murat Kalmatayev, advisor to the party chair; Tlek Akpayev, vice president of the Football Union of Kazakhstan; Alina Khamatdinova, co-chair of the youth association "Choice of the Youth"; Vladimir Rerikh, member of political council, chief editor of "Asar-Kazakhstan" newspaper; Gulnara Iksanova, member of political council; Aidar Zhumabayev, head of the Kazakhstani branch of International Broadcasting Company "Mir"; world champion Alexei Sivokon will run for parliament as per the party list. Also the list of candidates from single member constituencies has been defined.
