Chingiz Aitmatov is out of danger after heart attack

Academician Mirsaid Mirrakhimov, director of the centre, has expressed a certainty at a meeting with journalists that soon the writer will be out of bed. According to M. Mirrakhimov, Ch. Aitmatov was delivered to the national centre of cardiology July 12 with a diagnosis "acute infarct". Already yesterday day Ch. Aitmatov was transferred from the reanimation to the rehabilitation corps. In the clinic the writer was visited by Mairam Akayeva, Kyrgyz president's wife. Ch. Aitmatov was born in December 1928 in Sheker village, Kyrgyzstan. His works have been published in more than 150 world languages. He is the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Kyrgyzstan in Benelux countries. |
