The protesters require to deprive Bermet Akayeva, daughter of the former Kyrgyz president, of a parliament deputy mandate, KZ-today correspondent reports.
The protesters require a revision of results of the parliamentary election in the University election constituency No.1, where B. Akayeva was recognised as a winner.
B. Akayeva appeared in the parliament for the first time after 24 March events on Thursday, April 14, and participated in its work. During a break the speaker of the parliament Omurbek Tekebayev asked her to abstain from participation in the parliament work until a final decision of the Central Election Commission and the Supreme Court on a lawsuit from Bolot Maripov who ran in the same constituency, would be passed.
Kyrgyz public organisations diametrically opposed each other in estimations of her arrival. In particular, representatives of "Centre Interbilim" NGO called the population to participate in the picket against the ex-president's daughter. The association of non-governmental and non-lucrative organisation of Kyrgyzstan called "the picket against an unprotected woman" a cowardice. |
