Council of the ministers of defence met in Schutchinsk

A meeting of the council of ministers of defence (CMD) of CIS, that takes place today, on 9 June in Schutchinsk, Akmola oblast, has reviewed a plan of the preparation of military forces of CIS for 2004, a report circulated by the press service of the Ministry of Defence of RK says.

During the meeting the current issues of military, military-technical cooperation, training of military personnel, the activities of CMD. In particular, changes into the decision of CMD of CIS "On the rules of Tashkent agreement members states vessels flights in the air space of these states", joint manoeuvres of the antiaircraft troops of CIS with the usage of military aviation "Military commonwealth-2003" and other issues. During the meeting the CMD participants paid attention to the necessity of joint measures on the prevention of terrorist acts.

The CMD work will last until 11 June. On 10 June the ministers of defence of CIS will be received by Nursultan Nazarbayev, president of RK.
