Parliamentary leaders of RoK and RF met in Astana

Today, on April 1, a meeting between Zharmakhan Tuyakbai, chairman of mazhilis, and Sergey Mironov, chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russian Federation, took place in the House of Parliament.

The interlocutors observed an "exceptional diversity and depth in the relations between the two States", big prospects of improvement of this coooperation. According to S.Mironov, the cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia in the integration processes on the post-Soviet space is one of the strategic areas of these relations. Calling our Republic the "locomotive of integration", the speaker of Federation Council marked coherence and firmness of Kazakhstan position concerning the rapprochement between the Commonwealth States.

S.Mironov also stressed the fact of "cooperation and friendship" between parliamentarians of Russia and Kazakhstan, the unity of their positions on Interparliamentary Assemblies of CIS and EEU, other unions.

The interlocutors especially marked the importance of the continuation of the process of both States legislations unification, first of all - in the economic area. As S.Mironov said, the Russian legislators, government members often use the achiebvements of Kazakhstani colleagues, and, "taking into consideration the relations and experience of our countries, it is an absolutely normal and natural process". Moreover, according to Zh.Tuyakbai, it is important that "a mutual search for legislative errors and their rectification made authentically efficient laws, favourable for the peoples of our country, appear".

Besides, S.Mironov and Zh.Tuyakbai spoke about several priority areas of cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan. In particular, the speakers discussed the joint oil production on Caspian shelf, an interaction in the resolution of ecological problems, the coincidence of positions and the efforts of both countries in joining the World Trade Organisation.
