Azerbaijan continues negotiations with Turkmenistan

Khalaf Khalafov, deputy foreign minister of Azerbaijan, has advised journalists about it, KZ-today correspondent reports from Baku. According to Kh. Khalafov, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan have reached an agreement on the division of the Caspian bed as per the principle of equidistant reference points with regard to the shores and keep negotiating on co-ordinates of this line. The precedent round of negotiations on status of the Caspian between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan took place on 28-29 January in Azerbaijan. The deputy foreign minister of Azerbaijan has also informed journalists that bilateral negotiations between Azerbaijan and Iran as well on status of the Caspian are planned to be held in Baku this April. The date of the meeting will be defined by the parties later on. "In general I believe that the negotiating process can be characterised as positive," - Kh. Khalafov has concluded. |
