New head of the antimonopoly agency of RK

Oraz Zhandossov has been appointed as a new head of the Agency for regulation of natural monopolies and protection of competition of RK, the press service of the antimonopoly agency of RK says.

Earlier this position had been held by Yerbolat Dossayev, who, as it was reported, was appointed as the minister of finance of the republic.

U.Jandosov was born in 1961 in Almaty. He graduated from Moscow State University as an economist cybernetician. Starting from 1991 he worked as a consultant and then deputy head of the Council of Economic Consultants in the Supreme Economic Council by the president of RK, chairman of the National Agency for Foreign Investments - first deputy Minister of Economics of RK, chairman of the National Bank of RoK, deputy Prime Minister of RK, president of OJSC "KEGOC". Since December 2001 - he is the chairman of the Association of Financiers of RK. Since March 2002 - co-chairman of the Democratic Party of Kazakhstan "Ak Zhol". Lately O.Zhandossov has been working as an assistant to the president of RK.

KZ-today has learnt that from now on the agency authorities will consist of the regulation of natural monopolies and that is why it is expected that the name of this state organisation will change. A number of issues related with the protection of competition are suggested to be transferred to the general prosecutor office. Besides, the antimonopoly agency will report directly to the president of Kazakhstan.
