The purpose of the visit of US State Department delegation is studying and evaluating the situation with human rights in Central Asia. As KZ-today has been advised in PR department of the Senate of Parliament of RoK, a meeting between the delegation members and the chairman of Senate commission for international affairs, defence and security, Zhabakhan Abdildin, Chairman of Commission for Human Rights by the President of RoK took place. Zh.Abdildin acquainted the representatives of the US State Department with the remedial activities in Kazakhstan and the work of the commission headed by him. He stressed that Kazakhstan that chose a way of democratic development, "doesn't have and doesn't look for an alternative to the observance and protection of its citizens rights", which is confirmed by Kazakhstan's ratification of four basic conventions, preparations to join other UN documents, the availability of a legislative basis complying with the world standards on this issue and the establishment of ombudsman institution. At the same time Zh.Abdildin observed that apart from the political will of the State, a long total propaganda is necessary for the creation of intolerance towards violations of human rights, which is carried out in the Republic on a systematic and purposefully. L.Craner marked the success of Kazakhstan in the development of processes of society democratisation and expressed a certainty that RoK will join two basic UN pacts on political, economic, social and cultural citizens rights provision. Besides, he expressed gratitude to Kazakhstani government for the support of anti-terrorist coalition's actions. |
