Heads of RK and Pakistan hope to develop economic co-operation

Yesterday, on 8 December, a meeting between the presidents of Kazakhstan and Pakistan - Nursultan Nazarbayev and Pervez Musharraf took place in Islamabad. Open and tete-a-tete meetings opened the two day visit of the head of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, Pakistani TV reports.

The leaders of the two countries discussed issues of strategic co-operation in economy. Earlier it was reported that a number of agreements on co-operation between Kazakhstan and Pakistan in economy, banking, education and ecology were expected to be inked during the visit.

The heads of the two countries expressed their hope that the agreements that were going to be inked would allow trade and economic co-operation between the two countries to develop more dynamically.

President Musharraf informed the head of Kazakhstan about the investment climate and opportunities of Pakistan, positive phenomena in the economy of his country, attracting foreign businessmen.

Economic relations between the two states are successfully developing since early 90-s. In January 1993 the first meeting of Kazakh-Pakistani economic commission on the level of ministries took place. 30 businessmen from RK accompany the president of Kazakhstan in this trip 30. They are going to discuss with their colleagues issues of co-operation in oil, agriculture, textile and other industries.
