Azerbaijanian GDP report for January-May 2004

The GDP volume for January-May 2004 reached 14 trillion 777.3 billion manat in Azerbaijan, that by 10.3% exceeds the level of the accounting period of 2003.

As it was reported by the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, in GDP structure 40.8% took industry, 2.8% - agriculture, 13.3% - construction, 7.5% - transport, 3.0% - post service and communication, social service - 15.7% and the rest - other industries.

The GDP volume in industry increased by 2.1%, transport - 4.2%, post service and communication - 35.3%, trade and services - 11.9%, construction - 58.7%, agriculture - 4.5% in January-May 2004 against 2003.

The GDP volume in branch of production made 56.9%, service sector - 36.0%, 7.1% - net taxes and goods export in the accounting period.

The GDP volume per head made 1 million 810.9 thousand manat or $367.6 (9.4% growth against 2003).

The GDP in Azerbaijan in 2004 is expected to be at the level of 37.3 trillion manat, that by 3.3 trillion manat exceeds the forecasted level in 2003. The actual growth of GDP is expected to be at the level of 9.0%, deflator - 100.7% $1 - 4903 manat.
