The president of RK Nursultan Nazarbayev negotiated with Wang Lequan, member of the political bureau of the CPC Central Committee, secretary of the Xingjian Uygur Autonomous Regional Committee of the CPC, yesterday on May 19 in Urumqi, - KZ-today correspondent reports.

The head of RK observed during the meeting that presently a large scale development of China's Western regions was taking place and that therefore Kazakhstan was going to develop comprehensive co-operation with Xingjian.

Wang Lequan stressed an extreme importance of Atasu-Alashankou oil pipeline construction for the XUAR. This project will influence the development of bilateral commercial and economic co-operation, the CPC committee secretary believes.

The trans-border trade between Kazakhstan and China has grown significantly since 1992. Moreover, the trade with the XUAR makes 77% of all Sino-Kazakh commodity turnover. Kazakhstan has become the first big commercial partner of Xingjian.
