Conference on radiotherapy in Almaty

In Almaty, for the first time in Central Asia, on 23-26 September a large scale conference, dedicated to quality improvement in radiotherapy will take place, KZ-today correspondent reports.

According to its organisers, the state of Kazakhstani radiotherapy of malignant neoplasms will be reviewed at the conference. Participants will get acquainted with the state of affairs and international experience in protection against the negative influence during the radiotherapy usage in medicine.

According to the organisers, the conference will improve medical treatment quality for oncological patients and radiation safety in the oncological clinics.

The conference was initiated by Kazakhstani committee for Atomic Energy (KAE), with the sponsorship of US Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The organisers - KAE, Ministry of Health of RK, Centre for nuclear technologies safety, Scientech Inc (USA), IAEA, Kazakhstani research institute for oncology and radiology.

90 specialists from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikisyan, as well as IAEA specialists will participate in the conference.
