The population increased by 82 thousand people in 2004 against 2003. It is the highest index for the last nine years. 51.5% of inhabitants are living in cities, 48,5% in rural areas, the specialists says. The population consists to 51% of women and to 49% of men. The population for under 14-s made 26% and for 15-64 made 67%. Average life in Azerbaijan is 72.4 years, for men it is 69.6 years and 75.2 years for women.
